West Island United Pentecostal Church was founded in 1980 by Rev. & Mrs. Cole Price. The first service was held in the month of January in rented facilities at the Salvation Army Citadel on Roger Pilon in Dollard Des Ormeaux.

In 1984 the opportunity arose to purchase the present building, originally built as Lakeside Heights Baptist Church. Renovations were done to the building and living quarters for the pastor and his family were created in the basement.

In 1987 Pastor Cole Price resigned as Pastor and Rev. & Mrs. Michael Pelkey assumed the pastorate here at West Island.

Following Pastor Pelkey’s resignation in 1990 Rev. & Mrs. William Price accepted the pastoral call to West Island, continuing until the present.
